Calling it a night.
Quietly starts to laugh again. "But just because I’m letting it go for now, doesn’t mean I’m going to forget."
"Do as you please, but don’t despair when your life is on the line. If I don’t kill you when aiming for the boy, then the Espada and the hollow will, along with whomever else from our world ends up here." Kokuto would be another who came to mind, but the odds of seeing that idiot here was slim to none.
Again, she could find nothing to say because he was right. Ichigo had too many people after him in this city, most of which — as much as she hated to admit — were stronger than she was. Her teeth ground together in annoyance. "Tch, just shut up. Your voice is beginning to irritate me."
"No, I’m going to set you on fire. Again."
"Okay, okay, I’ll stop laughing."
"And you thought you could stop me? How foolish." His smirk grew wider, enjoying her frustration and wondering just how far he could push her. "At this rate you won’t be able to defend anyone, especially not Kurosaki. There are more people than just I who are after his blood here in this city. Keep that in mind."
He was really pissing her off. She hated the position she was in, because he was right. As of now, Rukia was completely defenseless. What had the scientists granted her, really? This piece of driftwood and the ability to go fast three times a day? It would do her no good. The crashing realization of just how useless she was in this city hit her like a ton of bricks, weighing her spirit down.
"That does not mean that I will not try."
Shuren paused, looking at her for the briefest of moments before laughing. He saw the shiver and knew she was disturbed, if not a little bit scared. Perhaps now she would take him seriously.
Giving her another look over, he noticed she was without her zanpakuto, a fact that brought a smirk to his lips. “My my, defenseless, are we?~”
"Tch. Isn’t that a stupid question?" She spoke through clenched teeth. Her hand rested on the piece of wood hanging at her hip, but it was nothing. It would never hold up in a fight. Especially not one against him.
Shuren continued to glare, now disliking this girl more and more by the minute. “Don’t make me kill you.”
"And how are you going to do that? Draw a picture of me and set it on fire? Oooh, I’m so scared." More laughing.
Shuren let out a low, dark chuckle next to her ear. “Oh you can try, but I can promise that you will be dead before you can blink.
You cannot defeat me.”
Her blood froze, and this time she couldn’t stop the shudder that worked its way up her back. She shoved him away from her, eyes narrowed. She had nothing she could say. Moments ago, Rukia had been counting on the knowledge that the scientists had zapped away powers, she had not expected Shuren to have his back and now she was at a loss. Without her zanpakuto, the only thing she could do was glare at him.
"Just drop it already..!"
"No way! Never! I’ll be bringing this up often."
